Default legal tv channels

Hi

The sky and english channels transmitted by anyone other than straight from the astra satellite are totally illegal.

We are at present installing a communal TV system with a 2.4m dish directed at the Astra satellite and cabling aprox 40 houses to the system which is totally legal and free to air.

If you live in a communal or urbanisation the same can be done for all your residents and holiday makers.

harveydog, Our urb community has around 40 houses in the torrevieja area and understand that not all urbs are the same, but could you please post on here the total cost of the project you are undertaking. I think we would all like to know what the breakdown per household it would cost. Do you also supply the boxes, if so how much would they be. Also could you confirm that you are a legally registered company in Spain.

Thank you in advance.

If your urbanisation has { and should have } communal coaxial cabling then the the equipment fitted would get rid of set top boxes within the home.
A 2.4m dish would be erected and a full headend giving you 20 english and 6 spanish channels would be installed.
Depending on the length of some of your cable runs a small signal booster may have to be added.
The total cost is around 9500 euros. Splitting the cost across 40 properties would be aprox 230 euros per houshold, this would be a one off payment with NO MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTIONS.
The satellite dish would be pointed directly at the Astra 28.2 satellite and therefore picking up fully legally transmitted signals and channels. Not retransmitted like some companies we could name.

We are residents on our Urbanisation and have over 30 years experience in communications and networking infrastructures.
We were asked by all the presidents and committees to sort a solution for our urbanisation which we have done , we are working on a self employed basis making sure all taxes and relevant spanish laws are adhered to.
All paperwork is up to date and legal.

I trust this meets with your approval, if you require any further information please contact me.

It is possible for you to have the legal channels , the only drawback is you have got to install a large 2.4m dish to pick up the satellite and keep the signal for 24 hours

The cost would be in the region of 900 euros.

kind regards

Default legal tv

we are only saying 20 channels as this is what our urbanisation requested.
we know there are many channels on the astra satellite but a big majority are rubbish and the english community are mostly interested with BBC and ITV etc.
The headend that is installed to the satellite dish is very expensive if you want to add more channel modules to pick up 60 plus channels, 20 channels is reasonable and cost effective

im looking at a solution to the tv problem myself, its a card share which i have in the uk, but a 1.8mtr dish and a free sat box from comet, will this give you access to astra 28.2 east which SKY broadcast on, my knowledge of 28.2 east is that these channels are all encrypted, ive sent you an email a week or so ago and i dont think your reply made any sense to me,

how do you get access to a satelite that is encrypted ?
