Question Driving tests in English

I read in one of the local papers recently that there is a place in Elche offering driving tests/lessons in English. Can't remember the exact content of the article but the subject came up in another conversation I had. Can anyone throw any light on this for me please?

Wink Driving School in Elche

Hi!
The driving school is called Trafik, and you can contact them on 966 661 805. Ask for Amy as she is really helpful.
Lessons start at 31€, but they don't have test centres in Torrevieja. Remember that you can't start lessons without doing your theory tests first. But speak with Amy.
Hope that helps?
Lotte

You dont need to pass your written test before taking driving lessons. You have to pass your written exam before taking the driving test. but nor for lessons.

The written test (unless it has changed) is a piece of cake. I took my license about 12 years ago. The spanish exam was dificult. but the english version was so easy I couldnt belive it. It asked for stupid stuff like. What does a redlight mean at a traffic light. etc. Took me about 10 minutes.

Hi Nalle,
I don't wish to contradict you, but this is the reply I got from the driving school itself when asking about their services. Perhaps it's best for Steve B just to contact the driving school and get it from the horse's mouth.....I am not insinuating that Amy is a horse you understand ;o)

here in Spain the driving consists of a theory and a practical exam (which is most definetely on the roads)

Ok to begin with the theory consists of 30 questions. You can study for this here at the driving school or study at home.
once you have passed the theory you can begin with practical lessons which are taken in Alicante.

the prices:
the theory includes :
matriculation and administration fees, three test fees and all your material. your practical exam fee is also included in the price which is 499 euros.
once you have passed lessons are at 31 euros. there is no minimum and no maximum.
if you would like any more information dont hesitate to email me

Kind Regards

Amy--Trafik

-Anyway I hope they can help Steve B. Let us know how you get on.

Ok Seems that they have their own special rules (wich they are entitled to of course) or perhaps the system has changed since I took mine.. it was 12 years ago.

yeah i think things have changed now Nalle, no driving school lets you take practical lessons til you've passed the theory, bt i think this is the best thing as that way the teacher can be sure that you know when you're supposed to stop or give way etc.
