Rules on sailing on reservoirs and the lake at La mata

Hi to all those budding sailers out there,

Does any one know what the rules are on sailing on these inland waters? I'm sure it cannot be restricted on pollution grounds taking into consideration what seems to go on almost every where.

I am amazed I have never seen anyone in these waters. No monsters lurking there I hope...

Just wondered if anyone had attempted sailing on any of the above in our region of Spain.

Torremendo looks pretty good for general sailing/windsurfing and kitesurfing, access a little difficult but possible. Has any one been there?

I think you will find the Guardia turning up to speak to you! The lakes at La Mata are a protected wildlife park and I think the Pedrera reservoir is private.

I suggest you fully research this before taking to the water!

Something else just occurred to me that perhaps people don't realise, the lakes are very shallow. For water sports try the Mar Menor area.

Thanks for the info, I know what you mean about the lakes, certainly the salt lakes would probably be to shallow.
