  • Buying Furniture...

OK people, looking for some good advice...

Just buying our first spanish property (not a new build) - so we will have to furnish it when we take over ownership in a couple of months.

So, where's the best places to get the furniture from - on our trips looking for property we saw quite a few furniture stores - but which are the best ones? - we want value for money not necassarly the cheapest!

Is it better to shop around or get a furniture pack from the one shop?

    Advice Please!

    Hola,

We just had to do the same, all in 1 week!! we did the electricals in carrefour, and most of the furniture from SOFAS.MUEBLES. The best 1 we found that was very helpful and very quick with their free delivery, also 5% discount if paid by cash was in between urb.san luis and carrefour.

Hi, Hons Garcia go past Carrefour and Mc D's, it's on the right. Big selection, very helpful, prompt delivery etc. Good after sales. Good luck.

Has anyone on the forum had any dealings with either of the following furniture companies who have been recomended to us

              recomended by Atlas - Arca
recomended via a show house we visited at a recent treade show - Villapac (based in UK and Costa del Sol, but work in costa blanca as well)

I'd definitely leave Arca alone. Over priced and generally crappy furniture and a lot of new builds have bought from them because they were pushed (like me) to the shop by their agents.
I've since replaced what I bought with other stuff and wasted a lot of money.
If you have the time look around and buy different bits from different shops in that way your place won't look the same as everyone else's.
                Good luck.

                    Thanks for the tips people!

We have had a look in Garcia's on a previous trip - didn't have the biggest selection so we wondered where else to look, although everyone who's used them seems to be impressed. Anybody know if they have a website and the address???

Anybody know what typical delivery times are? We are going to need ours pretty quick!

                    Cheers

                      Also...

Anybody know if Garcia's have a website or email address???

Want to have a look at what they have to give us some ideas before we come over - otherwise we will spend 2 week arguing over what we really want

                        Hi RAB5
I bought 2 sofas from Garcias last Tuesday and they were delivered Wednesday morning. Just wondered if you went to the right Garcia's there are three of them. There is one just off the N332 near the big building company (silver rocket looking building), one just past the Carrefour which is mainly electrical tuff and one on the Old Alicante Road which is behind the Carrefour that is by far the bigger of the 3 and I had no problems at all with them. Delivery time is usually given in a 4 hour slot so you don't have to wait in all day.

I don't know if they have a website but most of them speak good English you could phone and ask.

I found them to be really helpful and have a really big range of colours and products.

                        Jo

Jo - you don't happen to have a receipt or anything with there telephone number on do you??

I've searched he internet and can't find them anywhere

I think I must have gone to one of the smaller ones - it was on the opposite side of the N332 from Carrefour.

Can you give me some directions to the bigger one please?

                          Thanks for your help!

No problem, if you go out of the rear exit of the carrefour the one that brings you out opposite the Wok Buffet you come to a round about turn left go up and over the bridge straight over the roundabout and the road narrows up to the T Junction and you will see Hons in front of you. You have to turn right stay in the inside lane which gives you an option to do a u turn further down. When you have u turned again stay in the inside lane if you are on the main part of the road you will not be able to park.

That is the biggest one that I know of.
The name of the road is Avda. Cortes Valencianas and the phone number is 0034 965 717719.

                            Good Luck

Try cutting and pasting this link it shows a map you can see the road name on it in yellow. if you zoom out you may be able to get your bearings.
