  • close to the beaches?????

we are visiting la siesta in the near future, can anyone tell me how long it takes to walk to the beach and is it a pleasant walk avoiding crossing main roads

Ummm, probably far too far to walk unless you like a long walk. Plus unless someone knows of a detour around the salt lake (Then a dash across the N322) Most of the walk would be via busy roads through Torrevieja. Long hill on the way back! But there is a main bus route there so you can opt for the easy way to get there! I personally think to make full advantage of the area you need to hire a car. Hope you enjoy your stay.

It really depends on what you are looking for? Do you want to be in Torrevieja? La Mata is the Northern end of Torrevieja and usually within a few mins walk of the beach. Going futher South out of torrevieja, you have Punta Prima, Playa Flamenca, La Zenia & Cabo Roig, but beware as they are all split in two by the N322. Therefore you will have to ask the owners whether they are sea side of the N322.

We are on the beach side of the N332 at La Zenia, about 300m from the beach. Can't leave the web address but contact me if you need details
hope you have a great time.

                      Near the beach

Dawny - if you need a place too stay we are in Punta Prima, we are not on the beach side of the N332 but we have a big blue bridge across it, that is suitable for anybody with prams, or disability as it is ramped, so no steps, and from our apartment it is apartment a 15-20 minute walk. Apartment also has a 96 sq metre garden. So if you are interested you can email me on dorothy2102@hotmail.com.

                      Thanks

La Cinuelica (which is NOT Punta Prima, as Dot suggests, but Los Altos) is at least a good 35min walk to the nearest beach (Punta Prima) which, in its present state, I wouldn't recommend as an ideal family beach. The nearest family beach is La Zenia, which starting from Punta Prima you would need a car, and again, you will need to cross the N332.
I love La Mata especially and Guardamar, but both a fair distance but well worth visiting or staying at.
I've not yet been to La Siesta so, sorry, can't comment.
