  • Hostales in Torreviega?

    HI
I see no one has bothered to reply to my post attempting to establish the name of the beach at the bottom of Calle San Julian.
So here goes nothing - I am flying out there (to Murcia) on Thursday to get a look at the apartment I am thinking of buying in Torreviega and also to get to know the local surroundings since I have not been on the Costa Blanca since 1974 and that was to Calpe.
As the apartment is occupied, the seller has booked me into a nearby hotel but I hate hotels and would rather be renting a room somewhere. All I need is a bed, access to toilet facilities and to a shower.
Obviously a reply is required pretty urgently.
    Thank you for your time.

Thanks so much for your reply. I shall keep the first night in the hotel I am booked into and then look around for a hostale when I'm there.

        Hi Lithgy
I just noticed that you are a Scottish owner of property in Espana! I'm hoping to join the club!
I've written down the details of the wee hotel you mentioned. Do you think it will cost less than 45 Euros a night with breakfast?
That is what the one that I am booked into is charging. I was surprised, especially at this time of year.
It's gonna make it a dear week just to see the apartamento I'm thinking of buying! Especially as I'm probably going to have to make another trip to finalise things if I DO decide to buy it!

          Hi Alyson,
The cost was little more than half that but that was five years ago. I had a single room with shower & toilet. The staff were very nice but only spoke Spanish at that time. I had no complaints at all. Let me know how you get on.

Cheers. Yeah, I will do. I speak enough Spanish to get by for a fortnight but I doubt it's that way now with all the immigrants Spain is getting as well as us.

                Hi Alyson,
Your right not to rush in but have a good look around. Remember it's a buyers market at the moment so there are some good deals to be had. Enjoy the rest of your time in Torrevieja.
                Good luck
                Lithgy

                    Alyson hi,

Where were you thinking of buying in Torrevieja? My boyfriend has bought at Playa Flamenca and is very pleased with his apartment.

                    Good luck,
                    Impey

Unfortunately there are plenty of scruffy areas in and around Torrevieja, but there are some lovely area's too, just a bit harder to find.

                        good luck

                              Hi Alyson,
I agree with Mandy. Look around. I stay on the La Mata side of Torrevieja and enjoy it very much. There is still building going on here but services and facilities are good with easy access to town, beach and golf. I repeat I have never regretted the move to buy in Torrevieja but like anywhere it has its down side as well, as you have found out.
                              Good luck.
