  • Where to stay? Torrevieja Town? La Mata? Somewhere else?

    Hello there,

I'm wondering if someone could help give some good and much needed advice:

My family and I are looking to go to Torrevieja in August for a week or so - there are four of us (two in our twenties and two in their fifties). What we are ultimately looking for is 1) being close to a nice beach or beaches (of course!), 2) being near to good entertainment such as bars and restaurants, etc, 3) being near to supermarkets and all the essential necessities such as that and 4) staying somewhere where you don't need a car and everything is in walking distance.

I have been looking at Torrevieja town and La Mata and some other areas and so I'm wondering if anyone can tell me which area in Torrevieja best meets the above requirements?

Thank you very much in advance!

    Los Locos

    Try this:-
We stay at Los Locos. Edificio Orbi Playa, Front Block
Avenida Dr. Mariano Ruiz Canovas 6-9,
    Los Locos, Torrevieja
We have stayed here for the last four years in April or October for a week. Booked through TorreRentals.co.uk they arrange transfers as well. The are apartments are right on the sea front, main road is in front of the apartments, just around the corner are pubs and supermarkets, Torrevieja town centre is about 15 mins walk along the sea front, very nice walk, no hills. Check out web site for more details but if you want a sea view book the front block. Beach is sand but has some rocks. If you want to know more let me know.

        where to stay

hi, it depends what you wont, if you wont to stay in a hotel or an apartment, torrevieja has a lot more life, but in some peoples view la mata has better beaches, you don,t really need a car, you can walk from torrevieja to la mata, with a few stops along the way, or get a bus, theres good places to eat and drink in both. nick

I wouldn't like to recomend walking from la mata to torrevieja in the heat in august even making liquid stops along the way. 20 min bus ride or taxi would be better...
