  • English Supermarkets

I have been asked to compile a list of English supermarkets, bookshops etc (basically anywhere where somebody could sell English language books) Anbody help please?

A few off the top of my head:
Johnsons supermarket in Torreta and Quesada,
Kwiksave - Flamenca Beach, Old Alicante Rd, Albatera
    Punto Prensa - Gran Alacant
Bargain Books, Torrevieja, Albatera, San Miguel
    Cards N Things Quesada,
    Thomas Greens- Benijofar/Montebello?
    La Bodega - San Luis
    Pantry - San Luis

You can see I'm not really an expert on such things.

          English Supermarkets

There is a very good one called Costa Nova in Villa Costa - not far from the new Carrafour. They sell a lot of Tesco brands.

              Hi Steve.

              Hope you're well.

There's an English supermarket - I think it's a Quicksave - in Los Dolses CC.

              Best wishes,

              Chris.

                Hi Steve,

We arent a supermarket, but we are homewares, tools, argos reworked products and most villa essentials.

We are called Home and Living and we are british run and we have a shop on Centro Comercial in El Galan and the other the next roundabout down from the 'dartboard' roundabout in Los Balcones.

                Thanks

                Mel

Move back to England , ......there's loads. The last thing I want to see is an english supermarket, I bet you all go for a full english breky down the Rovers return.

And what's wrong with that? Or are you one of these snobbish expats who wouldn't touch anything British with a bargepole?

The point I think the spark is making is that why come to live in Spain and do your shopping in an English supermarket, does not make much sense really, I do not think that is being snobbish.

                        Oh sorry, my mistake.
So there is no point in going to Spain if you fancy English food which is easier to find in a "British" supermarket or that you might fancy an "English" breakfast? If that's the case at least 80 percent of expats should be on the next plane home!

What Steve was actually asking for is for a list of English outlets where someone could sell books.

Come on ! , I am just saying that I would like to enjoy a bit of the local culture etc. which is becoming increasingly difficult to find as the brits seem to want to convert everywhere into home from home.
Anyone got a problem with that ?

I agree with Spark, why anyone wants to come here and buy in "English" shops is beyond me, especially as the ads say " all your favourites including cleaning products" Do you think the Spanish dont have a perfectly acceptable range of cleaning products at half the price? Even Spanish baked beans are far better than "English" ones, many more beans and far less sauce. The Spanish supermarkets have equally good products as in England and in some cases, far better. Buy local or supermarket own brands every time, you will save money!!
