Help with disabled SIM card

My sons mobile is reading disbaled PIN.

Is there anything we can do to get it working again.

Any help apprecaited as totally useless with technical things.

If it is a pay as you go, could it be that he has exceeded the time in which to top up the phone? If that's the case I don't think there is anyway to reinstate it and he would need to get a new sim card.

I have a Spanish PAYG mobile for use when I am in Spain. It must be topped up regularly (regardless of how much credit is left on the phone) or the network disables the Sim and yes, you will then have to buy a new one (which also means getting a new number unfortunately).

With most networks you must top up at least once every six months, but with Vodafone it's once every nine months.
