Hi everyone. Perhaps someone will be able to advise on this.
I bought a resale last year in Los Dolses. The property was built by the same builder who did most of the initial Villamartin complex. It is a first floor apartment (no neighbours above, just my solarium).
The property has an open fireplace in the lounge, with a chimney. The chimney is not blocked off at all. Is this a 'real' fireplace? Would it be possible to put a grate in and use it to burn logs or coal?
I ask because I'n not sure if it's meant to be ornamental, and therefore whether the bricks are the right type to withstand the heat of a fire. I would also need to test that the chimney draws properly.
Does anyone have any experience of using their fireplace, did you need to get it checked first, and where would I need to go to buy a suitable grate (and fuel - coal or logs).
Many thanks,
Chris.
