We are moving to Torrevieja in April . Basic situation is Husband who will be working 7/12 months in UK and paying deductions there . Wife and 4 year old son will reside in rented accommodation all year round with son attending local Spanish school . Wife will not be working initially . Which of us are required to take out residency and/ or sign on the padron . Are there any benefits to husband being a resident if he will only be in Spain 5 months of the year and not earning there? Any advice gratefully received . Many thanks

In response to your queries , please note that there is no need to apply for the Residency, mostly when the husband has earnings just in the UK and he will consequently pay his taxes there. However it would be convenient to register on the padron at the Town Hall for the purposes of registering the child at the school.
