My friend used to take her dog to classes run by a chap called Les (I think that's his name). She tells me the classes are on a Tuesday evening in the bullring at the international equestrian centre on the Crevillente Road. I can get the number for you if you're interested.

Thanks Wendy , I will maybe check it out. We went to the San Miguel, Pets world classes which resulted in 4 dogs pinning mine to the ground and proceeding to bite her. The trainer insisted that she must become used to this, that it was normal... needless to say we are a bit off training, we have also ventured to the park by the social club in Ciudad Quesada which is close to home and everytime we encounter the same thing. Dogs running around without leashes. The minute they see my dog (she is very big, but only a pup) they become agresive towards her and gang up. She has become frightened of most other dogs, much prefers people. We go to a different park now. What is with people? Not much of a free world for her.

Hi Colina. Sorry to hear about your dog's bad experiences - and I certainly do not agree with letting dogs 'go' for others in training classes. (I've done lots of obedience in England and absolutely NEVER known any even allow a dog off lead until it's reached the right standard of training). They do seem to have different ideas over here though and I can only assume it's because they are trying to get owners to socialise their dogs, although a training class is not the right place for that type of socialisation.

On walks my two are always off lead and yes, they do run up to others, but as they are very friendly and very tiny, I don't worry too much. They're used to running with big breeds in the UK so have no fear of other, larger dogs and most other dogs, not seeing them as a threat, either ignore them or try to play with them. If you want to come down to the lake where I walk mine I'd be happy to meet you and see what your girl makes of my two little ones (they're smaller than my cats!).

                  Hi Gameon.

It wasn't me who mentioned the park in Quesada, it was Colinas (aka Sally) so I can't help you there. I walk my dogs in San Luis by the lake (not the pink lake, the other one). It's part of the La Mata and Torrevieja natural park and where I enter it there is some sort of fencing with entry gaps. We walk down to the lake every day and it's very safe there.

                  Wendy

Dear Gameon, there are several parks but some of my prefered are.
                    1) just behind the Masons club & Social club
                    2) just up above the Agua park
                    3) The Hill which is a walk down past the Agua park about 3 blocks there is a trail leading up really fab for hiking. Real open air :0)

                    Happy walking

I can place 2 and 3, but could you elaborate on number 1 please ? Is that the club next to the bowls ? If so, how would you get to the park from there please ?
