Smart for 2 Car hire

Hi
I'm in Ireland and wish to hire a Smart for 2 car (automatic) at Alicante Airport. I have been hiring this car for the past 4 years but in 2007 the car hire companies do not seem to have Smart cars in their fleets.

I have been on the internet for about 3 hours and cannot get any car rental company that has smart cars in their fleet. I have booked my flights to Alicante for May to June (33 days) and now cannot get a cheap small automatic car to rent. HELP!!!

Can anyone help me please?

Smart 2 Car

www.doyouspain.com use to do them it was on their list, and it has now been removed, so possibly they are discontinuing using them.

Some still are from Murcia airport. I know that as we were getting our hire car loaded up at Murcia airport recently & an elderly couple had a Smart car, hired from some company, in the car park & they just could NOT get it to go more than a few metres then it stopped. (Eventually it went.)
