    Default Ryan Air

The following is factual and the subject of a complaint to Ryan Air so hopefully no need for the administrator to remove the post.
A very good friend of mine who is terminally ill with cancer needed to bring his return flight to the uk forward by 1 week due to medical reasons- We attended Murcia airport to amend the origional booking (the web site price would have been €64 but the charge at the aiport was €117, which he paid in cash)

So this morning, the day of the amended flight, I phoned Ryan Air on a UK telephone number (the Spanish number was unobtainable) to ensure everything was in order and that his wheel chair assistance at both ends had been arranged. I was informed that whilst the amended booking had been registered and he was allocated a seat, the sum of €117 was outstanding. I explained payment had been made in cash at Ryan Air´s desk at Murcia airport some 4 days earlier but simply the reponses I received were disgraceful. To sum it up I was told unless the "outstanding " sum was paid within two hours of my phone call his reservation would be cancelled. The supervosor soon back tracked and then made a comment that the matter was something i should deal with at Murcia airport. When I pointed out my friends booking was with Ryan Air and not Murcia airport I was told there was nothing they could do and the only option available was to go to Murcia Airport and sort it out. I suggested they contact their staff at the airport to resolve this issue so that when we arrived everything would run smoothly. It was then I was told they could do nothing because they were the reservation centre only. However they were not able to provide me a customer services number but any complaints would need to be in writing!!!!

So now you have it, as long as they have your money, they are not interested in you. If you have a matter which needs sorting urgently there is no way of speaking to customers services and if you have a complaint the only way it can be resolved is in writing via the postal sysyem.

Guess what, a matter which could have been resolved by them quite simply will result in a written complaint and likely at least one less passenger will got fly with them. BUT what do they care just as long as the seat is taken by some other mug.

their chairman has never tried to hide the contempt he has for his passengers - simply don't fly with them and if you have no choice make sure you take food & drink on board to get the sw*ne back!

A lesson learned, always pay by credit/debit card.

I wouldn't dream of paying in cash I always pay by card for anything like this because you can always get your money back if things go wrong. Did you get a receipt ?

Surely by now you must have learnt that if you travel by Ryanair you may get cheap flights (not so cheap when all the concealed extras are included) but you certainly don't get anything else.
A bit of consideration, respect or civility is never on their menu.
I do travel by Ryanair, but only if I can save at least €100 on the return flight. Otherwise the indignity of being treated so appallingly by them is not worth the savings in fare.
I suppose this means that every man has his price and that I can be bought quite cheaply. I am probably like most people and Ryanair realise this.

    Couldn't agree more with Dermot.
I would have to be saving £100 for the pair of us before I consider flying on their cattle truck.

    Default Ryanair

I am afraid I have to disagree with you. I regularly use Ryanair and will continue to do so because where else can you go to get a flight to Murcia return from Luton for £11.98 inc all taxes. We buy our sandwhiches in Marks and Spencer Simply Food store in Luton and we are all set.

Had no problems with Ryanair until this last flight to Santiago de Compostela from L'pool. As it was only a weekend trip we used their 'check and go' priority boarding system---fantastic going out it was only at the airport on return as we were boarding that we realised l'pool airport staff had retained the 'wrong' piece of paper, in effect we had no boarding card, all hell broke loose, we nearly didn't get on this flight, had to run all the way back down to check in, obtain a boarding card and go back through security again. brown trousers time.
So just be aware if you use this system that you end up with the relevant bits of the boarding cards.

Default They are a bunch on numptys!!

I am afraid as mentioned before with Ryan Air you get what you pay for and that is not very much! As I work in the motor industry I can only compare them to a car, when you buy Ryan Air you are buying a 10 year old Ford Escort, it is uncomfortable, noisy, irritating and generally unreliable. When something goes wrong it will cost you more than what the car is worth! However if you buy a Saab or an Audi you pay more but it is comfortable, full of goodies, safe and you sit in a nice enviroment. If it goes wrong they bend over backwords to help you and give you a nice loan car. If I could afford it I would never fly with ryan Air again but when you have 2 kids and you need to go over in the school holidays there is little choice. He is a money grabbing git and that is life!
