  • Ryan Air

The following is factual and the subject of a complaint to Ryan Air so hopefully no need for the administrator to remove the post.

their chairman has never tried to hide the contempt he has for his passengers - simply don't fly with them and if you have no choice make sure you take food & drink on board to get the sw*ne back!

A lesson learned, always pay by credit/debit card.

I wouldn't dream of paying in cash I always pay by card for anything like this because you can always get your money back if things go wrong. Did you get a receipt ?

Had no problems with Ryanair until this last flight to Santiago de Compostela from L'pool. As it was only a weekend trip we used their 'check and go' priority boarding system---fantastic going out it was only at the airport on return as we were boarding that we realised l'pool airport staff had retained the 'wrong' piece of paper, in effect we had no boarding card, all hell broke loose, we nearly didn't get on this flight, had to run all the way back down to check in, obtain a boarding card and go back through security again. brown trousers time.
So just be aware if you use this system that you end up with the relevant bits of the boarding cards.

They are a bunch on numptys!!

I am afraid as mentioned before with Ryan Air you get what you pay for and that is not very much! As I work in the motor industry I can only compare them to a car, when you buy Ryan Air you are buying a 10 year old Ford Escort, it is uncomfortable, noisy, irritating and generally unreliable. When something goes wrong it will cost you more than what the car is worth! However if you buy a Saab or an Audi you pay more but it is comfortable, full of goodies, safe and you sit in a nice enviroment. If it goes wrong they bend over backwords to help you and give you a nice loan car. If I could afford it I would never fly with ryan Air again but when you have 2 kids and you need to go over in the school holidays there is little choice. He is a money grabbing git and that is life!

HHHMMMMMM I am not sure you have a very good grasp of the English language! How can you be money grabbing when you are paying?

To be honest I don't think they are that cheap, certainly not in the school holidays and the ticket price is not the main issue for me. It is the way they try and make money out of you for every little thing even if it is bordering on the illegal! i.e you are allowed 20kg of luggage each. coming back from spain mine was 23kg my wifes 15kg that is OK as we are 2 kg under the agreed weight. Oh no it is per item of luggage therefore a 20E charge. Cheap and near illegal shot. I used to fly with Fly be from Southampton until I had to move, they put Ryan Air to shame, far better, treat people fairly and not too expensive.

I have a choice: Ryanair from Murcia, or EasyJet from Alicante. Ryanair are always considerably cheaper than EasyJet. EasyJet have a policy of overbooking and, despite arriving at check-in in good time, I have been refused boarding. This was at 6.00 am. at Stansted. I was then told that the mid-day flight was also overbooked! The earliest they could get me from Stansted to Alicante was that evening!! Ryanair have a policy of not overbooking so as long as I arrive before check-in closes I can fly! No contest. Ryanair wins hands down.

                              Watch the Luggage!

Just been reading the small print for our next trip and have spotted that the cunning boffins at Ryan Air have now reduced the luggage weight to 15kg. Very clever, you can only 2/3 fill a suitcase to keep under 15kg, therefore even when paying the extra they have a good chance to charge you extra! Oh well you have a 10kg limit for hand luggage, as long as you can fit it in a 50cm x 30cm bag. It is all getting very tidious indeed!
