We are coming out in September to look for a house to rent and a area.
So please e-mail us with advice on any area, any do or don't also if you have a long term house for rent.
We look forward to hearing from you soon, and meeting you all next year.

      Hi,
      Thank you for your reply.
We lived in Gildersome, but we have just sold our house ane we are renting a house in Batley until we come over.
It is very nice of you about your apartment but we are looking for a house as we are bringing our dog.
Can you give us any idear about the area?
Were do you think would be a good place to look, as we would really like to make a good social life out there and we still like to go out.
And Andy would have to find work.

        Hi Karen

Congratulations on your pending move - how fantastic that you have made that decision.

I am in no position to advise you where is best for you - we have just recently signed over an apartment last year. However, I think the general consensus would be to do what you have done, rent somewhere, drive around, see which area is best for YOU. I am not sure about work for your husband - I do believe it can be hard to come by, particularly if you arent fluent in Spanish but I do really wish you all the luck in your future move.

I have a property in a lovely area, which is occupied by many people from Yorkshire (my neighbours are from Leeds). I can also provide details of the only English person I am aware of in the car trade, which would at least be a start for you.

Unfortunately, you dont provide an e mail address, the PM facility is disabled on this forum and I dont put personal details on a public forum.

If you can create a new e mail address, Ill send you a message and you can then dispose of that e mail address if you wish.

                  Hi Brian 747,

Yes Andy is thinking about it. He has put a add in the work section, asking about units and what do people think or have any idears regarding setting up has own garage.

Hi definitely the best thing to do. Plenty of work out there. Maybe try mobile before committing to getting premises. You could advertise in the local papers, or the UK shops out here. But get advice from a solicitor as to what you have to do regarding taxes etc. it will pay for itself in the long run just like you would leave an accountant to do the same in the UK

just noticed you post re setting up you own garage.

There are many Many obsticles here to cross to open a "repair Shop" commercial units can be very expensive, and a host of spanish red tape, please take some professional advice from a Spanish based lawyer who specialises in Commercial ventures before doing anything, they don.t charge a lot but can save you loads of money and heartache, I have several business interests here and have learned the hard way like most others in business.

please don't let me put you off your dreams but do take some advice
                      best of luck
                      Jon

                        Karen,
No, we arent living out there - we have many problems along with many other people however, if our problems can help someone else not get these massive issues, our job will be halved!

Not with Spain itself I hasten to add but the many (underhand) Brokers who seem to roam about Spain offering fantastic service and after service (English based companies I hasten to add!!!! ). Funny how it never happens what they state in their brochure.............

So advice is, take your time, find where YOU want to live, dont part with too much cash, DO NOT use the agents solicitors (do a search and you will find some really good ones), do your homework, talk to neighbours, join any forum you can, ask lots of questions and when YOU are happy, go for it.

                          Tornado.

                          Thanks for the advice.
From reading between the lines, sounds like you have had some problems.
We are going to rent at first, to make sure it is the right area.
So at the moment we sit for hours on the internet trying to find some long term rents. (any suggestions)?
