Recommended Restaurant for Special Occasion

Hi,
Just wondering if somebody can recommend a nice restaurant in the Torrevieja area. My wife and I will be visiting Cabo Roig next month and we will be celebrating our wedding anniversary.

We don't mind paying a bit above the odds for a really nice place. We like seafood, general European and Spanish food.

We have been to the Las Cuevas (The Caves) in San Miguel de Salinas on a few occasions and found it to be wonderful. Just like to visit somewhere different on this occasion.

Market Street in San Miguel is really nice, they have a website you could check out or another place we like but it is very expensive is Casa Alfonso, Dehesa de Campoamor, we like to go here for special occasions, they also have a website, if you do go here perhaps you could try the menu de degustación, it's about 8 small courses, always different but beautiful, about 40 euros each but worth it. I do believe they have one or two Michelin stars also.

There is a wonderful seafood restaraunt called the Barlo Vento just behind the MASA hotel between Torrevieja and La Mata - it is very nice indeed for a special occasion. Also the Queen Mississipi at La Mata which is a converted riverboat steamer with wooden decks and brass rails etc - good food.

if you want to do lunch go to the Rebate Restraunt at Rebate which is past San Miguel on the road to San Pedro de Pinatar I say lunch as the road to it is very twisty and not a good place to drive back from in the dark!

Hello Patrick, If you are willing to travel a little north from Caba Roig, the five best restaurants for us are

Porticomar, Guardamar (Tel 966725603)
The Vestry- Algorfa (Tel 966783976)
Market St - San Miguel (966723965)
Viloriens - on the road from Rojales to the 332 (Tel 966712263)
Fratelli - Benijofar (Tel 966713645)


I have not found any better than those above, close to Quesada - excellent quality and prices. When I do I will be adding them to my list. I don't know any down near Caba Roig.

I live in Dublin and if they were here, their menu prices would be doubled!!

El Gusto, a Dutch restaurant in Benijofar is wonderful, it's by Cambank by the cobbled area. (It has rattan furniture outside). I've not heard a bad word spoken about it. Their menu is very varied. It's beautiful inside, wish this site allowed photographs.

Del Engels Playa Flamenca beachside is a nice place specialising in Lobster dishes.

For the beautiful sea view and lovely foodi rather enjoyed eating at the masa hotel, though best during daytime as you get the incredible view.
