Mercadona - Punta Prima

I have heard that the Mercadona supermarket at Punta Prima is closing down.

Anyone else heard this?

I also heard they were going to relocate in a new commercialization in Los Balcones.

Apparently the Punta Prima site keeps getting flooded - I am not surprised having watched what looked like the river Ganges flowing down the road next door (no drains).

I think you're probably right!
There's a sign up on a vacant lot in Los Balcones to say that a new Mercadona will be built - no sign of any action yet though.

The Mercadona in Punta Prima is due to close mid June 2010. The official reason is that it is too busy!!! so they are building a much larger one at Los Balcones. Perhaps they should have a word with Tesco about their store location strategy.
