Iberdrola Bills

In today's RTN, a writer has made me aware that Iberdrola have been charging VAT on the Electricity Tax.
In other words, I'm paying a tax at 4.864% and, on top of that, VAT at 16%.
A tax on tax.
Is this correct or should I draw their attention to it?
Seems like something akin to daylight robbery!

The thing is, it must be happening to everybody who is with Iberdrola, surely some bright Spanish person would have noticed and complained if it were wrong. As it was in the RTN perhaps they have brought it to the attention of Iberdrola. Iberdrola do seem to be a law to themselves.

I visited the Iberdrola shop in Los Alcazares today and the very helpful young lady there told me that many people had been querying this tax on a tax and if it was legal. She didn't know the answer but had referred the matter to Iberdrola HQ for clarification as to the legality. She added that if they were in the wrong it affected all iberdrola customers. Watch this space!!!
